Learn how to choose the right size and fabric for the Sheldon duvet cover, plus proper care tips to keep it looking great. A practical buying guide.
Quick answer
The Sheldon duvet cover is a graphic-print single bed size made from ultra-soft organic cotton poplin, designed in Barcelona. Choose it for a durable, stylish upgrade to a child's or guest bedroom, and follow the care steps below to preserve the print and fabric.
Why fabric matters for a duvet cover
The Sheldon duvet cover is made from 100% organic cotton poplin. This tightly woven cotton is known for being lightweight, breathable, and smooth, making it comfortable for year-round use. The poplin weave also helps the graphic print stay crisp wash after wash.
Compared to flannel or jersey, organic cotton poplin is less prone to pilling and holds its shape well. It is a good middle-ground fabric: not too heavy for summer and not too thin for winter. If you prefer a cozier feel, you might add a blanket inside the cover.
Understanding fit: single bed size
The Sheldon duvet cover is designed for a single bed. Before buying, measure your duvet insert: single bed duvets are typically 140 x 200 cm or 135 x 200 cm, but sizes vary by region. The cover should be slightly larger than the insert to allow for easy insertion and a comfortable drape.
If you have a thicker duvet, choose a cover with a generous fit. The Sheldon cover's dimensions are not listed in the catalog, so check the product page for exact measurements. A tight fit can cause the duvet to bunch, while a too-loose fit may look baggy.
Caring for your Sheldon duvet cover
To keep the organic cotton poplin and graphic print looking new, wash the duvet cover inside out on a gentle cycle with cold water. Avoid bleach and fabric softener, as they can damage the fibers and fade the print. Tumble dry on low or line dry to prevent shrinkage.
Iron on a medium setting if needed, but the poplin weave typically resists wrinkles. Store the cover in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to avoid long-term fading.
Decision rules for the Sheldon duvet cover
- Choose the Sheldon duvet cover if: You want a single bed cover with a bold, graphic print that is designed in Barcelona. The organic cotton poplin is a durable, breathable fabric suitable for year-round use.
- Consider an alternative if: You need a different size (e.g., double, queen, king) or a fabric with more warmth, such as flannel. The Sheldon is only available in single bed size.
- Care tip: Wash inside out on a gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry low or line dry to preserve the fabric and print. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Always check the care label before first wash.
